NEW MEXICO ELK HUNTS

I do a lot of my elk hunting in New Mexico on private land located just a few miles from my home. In fact, I can watch several of the open parks on this place from my front porch. This is the 14th year I have hunted this ranch thus my guides and I know this ranch and the habits of the elk that live there extremely well. Over the years we have had great success on this place and have taken many fine bulls off of it. The elk here are a resident herd so we do not have to worry about whether we’ll catch a migration or not. Depending on the time of the year, we do a lot of calling and spot and stalk hunting. There are also several good places for you to sit in a blind and catch the animals coming out to feed. There is an extensive network of roads on this place, so we do all of our hunting out of trucks, or on foot. I can cater to every hunting style. We can do lots of walking, or I can drive you right up to a blind. Whatever you prefer! For this hunt, I rent a fully modern cabin, so you can enjoy hot showers and warm beds after your day’s hunt. I never have more than six people on this hunt so you will have plenty of room to relax. All you need to bring for this hunt is your personal gear and your weapon. The elk hunt is on private land and the license is guaranteed. I have landowner permits so you do not have to draw a tag in the lottery. When you book a hunt, I do all of the leg work involved in getting your license. I will have it for you when you arrive. There is a meat processor nearby and I will help you arrange for your trophy to be processed. I also have a great taxidermist, if you do not have one of your own.

Most of my archery elk hunts are done on public land in the Gila National Forest in Southwestern New Mexico.  The Gila National Forest encompasses more than 3 million acres and it is extremely wild and remote. Therefore, it has the potential to produce 400 B & C class bulls. We hunt in units 16b and 16c. I have hunted these units for twenty two years and I know them well. The only drawback to this hunt is you have to DRAW a tag. The odds of being successful in the draw is about 60%. With a little bit of luck, we could have you hunting in an area known for its fantastic elk herds. The deadline for drawing is in April. If you are interested, contact me so we can beat the deadline. Private land hunts in New Mexico for antelope and mule deer are also my specialty. All of these hunts have good quality animals and high success rates. If you are interested in hunting New Mexico for antelope and deer, please contact me for more details.
